OPERATIONS MANAGER

The Operations Manager is responsible for the day to day running of Takitimu House and to effectively lead our team towards excellence in service provision. Service provision that is dedicated and specific to 'hard to reach' men. Leading a small team who are instrumental in transforming the lives of our most vulnerable requires a hands on, all inclusive approach. The kaupapa within the whare is the vital foundation to building strong relationships and connections with our people who are displaced.

We are all in this waka together, we leave no one behind.

SOCIAL WORKER

A full time Social Worker is responsible for assessment, goal plans, referrals, internal and external client programs. Our Social Worker remains true to our philosophy of client centered service provision in all facts of engagement.

No stone is left unturned to empower our men to reach their potential, self-determination being pivotal in all that we do.

It is imperative that our social worker is well connected within our community and navigates systems and criteria to best meet the needs of our tane.

KAIWHAKATERE

Our Kaiwhakatere is dedicated to supporting our tane to reconnect with whakapapa, whenua  and with whanau. This is achieved through engaging with our tane from a truly holistic approach that aligns with Te Whare Tapa Wha and truly encapsulates Maori Models of care.

Engagement and assessment process can vary from hikoi and wananga to whanau hui and learning pepeha. Having the ability to connect with our people in ways that meet their needs, often outside of the traditional formal office setting if this is what they request. A therapeutic and space for our tane is vital to truly engage with them.

Our Kaiwhakatere has formed relationships with our local Whanau Ora providers to work together collaboratively to achieve the cultural goals that are identified by our tane.

SUPPORT WORKER

Ensuring the immediate needs of each person is attended to when entering into our service, we call this 'rolling out the red carpet'. The support worker's role is to walk alongside each Tane from entry into Takitimu House to a point of transition with safety, sustainability, independence and wellbeing a priority.

Practical support is vital to ensure our men are set up to succeed and barriers are removed.  Empowering our people to be well positioned in our society.

KAITIAKI / SUPERVISOR

Kaitiaki's are primarily responsible for ensuring a warm, welcoming and harmonious environment. Each person who arrives at Takitimu House will be greeted with a warm smile and shown the ropes including health and safety and evacuation. Kaitiaki's are available 24/7 to ensure our whare is safe, secure and clean.
